Physical Abilities Test (PAT)

Find your Drive

A high level of physical fitness is critical to success as a CHP officer, in order to keep both our officers and the public safe. The way we measure readiness for the physical demands that inherently come along with law enforcement is through a Physical Abilities Test (PAT). Preparing for yours? Below are the minimum requirements to pass.

Minimum Requirements

You must meet each of these requirements in the allotted time frame to pass the PAT. Failure to complete any component will disqualify you and end the hiring process for that exam cycle. However, you will have another shot to reapply in the next exam cycle.
