While the role of a CHP officer can be challenging, the CHP Academy aims to cultivate resilience from cadets right at the pivotal launch of their careers – both mentally and physically. All CHP cadets go through the same intensive 26-week training at the West Sacramento campus, covering academics, exercise, high-speed driving, and self-discipline to prepare cadets for life in the agency. During this time, cadets have the opportunity to form connections, learn from each other, and build a foundation for long-lasting friendships through these shared experiences. By graduation day, you will not only have earned your well-deserved promotion as a ranking CHP officer, but a place in an entire community of cadets that have your back.
